Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in the children's zoo (dog crates are available).

Hours of Operation
Knies Kinderzoo hat vom Februar von 10:00 bis 16:00 Uhr und ab 1. März bis zum 1. November 2026 täglich von 09:00 bis 18:00 Uhr geöffnet, inkl. Sonn- und Feiertage.
Letzter Zooeinlass um 17.30 Uhr.
Food and Drink
Restaurant Winter Garden
The open and bright winter garden is located in the center of the zoo and serves hot meals until 5:30 p.m. There are a total of about 100 seats available. In addition, there is a covered outdoor area with space for about 150 guests.
Restaurant Tiergarten
The self-service restaurant is located right at the zoo entrance and serves hot meals until 5:30 p.m. The indoor area has seating for about 70 people. There is also a covered outdoor area with seating for about 90 people. Two spacious terraces, each with seating for 40 people, are located right next to the flamingo pond.

Arrival by public transport
We are easily accessible by train, bus and boat. The bus stop 'Rapperswil, Kinderzoo' is located directly in front of the zoo entrance. From Rapperswil railroad station you can reach Knies Kinderzoo on foot via the underpass, Oberseestrasse or Passerelle in about 5 minutes, from the Schifflandesteg you have to allow about 15 minutes on foot. Knies Kinderzoo is pleased to cooperate with the SOB, the ZVV and the ZSG.
There is a bus stop right in front of the zoo entrance.
Arrival by car
You can reach our zoo via the A3 Zurich - Chur/Chur - Zurich, motorway exit Pfäffikon/SZ, Seedamm, Zentrum, direction St. Gallen Wattwil, Lido or via the Forchautobahn, exit Rapperswil, Zürcherstrasse, Zentrum, direction Lido/Hochschule Rapperswil.
Sufficient parking spaces are available in the immediate vicinity.
